ROUTES OF ENTRY & HEALTH HAZARDS (ACUTE AND CHRONIC)

 

INGESTION:

Gastrointestinal irritation, vomiting, diarrhea.

EYES:

Moderate irritation, redness, blurred vision.

INHALATION:

Nasal and respiratory irritation, dizziness, headache, nausea, possible unconsciousness, and asphyxiation.

SKIN:

Moderate irritation, redness, blurred vision.

 

EMERGENCY AND FIRST  AID PROCEDURES

 

INGESTION:

Keep person warm and quiet. Seek immediate medical advice regarding induction of vomiting.

EYES:

Flush with large amounts of water lifting upper and lower lids. Get medical attention.

INHALATION:

Remove to fresh air, give artificial respiration if necessary.

SKIN:

Thoroughly wash exposed area with soap and water.

 

SECTION VII:  PRECAUTIONS FOR SAFE HANDLING AND USE

 

STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN CASE LARGE AMOUNTS ARE RELEASED:

Remove all sources of ignition. Allow volatile portion to evaporate completely. Avoid breathing vapors and remove with inert absorbent.

WASTE DISPOSAL METHOD:

Do not incinerate. Dispose of in accordance with local, state and federal regulations. Do not contaminate lakes, streams, or other water supply.

PRECAUTIONS TO BE TAKEN IN HANDLING AND STORAGE:

Do not store or use near heat, sparks or flame. Store in well ventilated area. Keep closure tight and container upright to prevent leakage. Do not puncture or incinerate. Do not spray near fire or open flame.

OTHER PRECAUTIONS:

Reports have associated repeated and prolonged occupational over-exposure to solvents with permanents brain and nervous system damage. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. Avoid spontaneous contaminated rags or other ignitable material. Keep out of reach of children.
