Tips for repairing headlights:
- Clogged Nozzle – Pull off old nozzle and replace it. This normally happens when you spray in the sunlight, and product begins to cure.
- Clouding – If the coated surface starts to turn cloudy, it is most likely to humid. Gentle heating will reverse this.
- Wind – Spraying in the wind can lead to large bubbles and runs remaining in the coating. If not possible to wait for wind to die down or move to another area, then keep repair as wet as possible and be patient. Pre wetting with solvent (sec-butanol) can help.
- Cold Weather – The can must be 70 degrees for best results. It has a tendency to cool as you spray. Marble must be free to move, if it is not, can is too cold. Gently heat the can in warm water then spray.
- Sanding – When sanding by hand, if you can't determine when you've sanded enough, switch directions of sanding with each grit (vertical vs. horizontal). When you can no longer see the scratches from the prior grit (direction), you have sanded enough.
- Hardcoat – Make sure to sand off entire previous hard coat. This is harder than the fully yellowed areas which sand off easily.
